Domain Price Madness

Do you know the registration and renewal fees for COM & NET domains as of July 1st, 2010 will increase?. The registration, renewal and transfer fee for standard .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ, and .US domains will then be increased to to $10.47/yr. (approximately)

According to a settlement in for lawsuit between Verisign and ICANN in 2006, Verisign had not increased their prices in 2009 AND the company is allowed to increase their prices on an annual basis with increases of up to 7% per year for .COM.

Can you imagine what happened after 10 years? Yeah, for most of webmaster,  7% increase may not seem like a lot of money, but what if you have a portfolio of 100 (IF NOT thousand) domains .And how about 10 times more then current price?

The fact is It costs them less every year to perform their mandated monopoly of domain registry, as technology in general becomes constantly more affordable.
What business is more profitable that the domain industry ..Running the .com registry is like printing money. The cost of running a registry is less than $ 0.20 per domain. my opinion!

Tips:How top reduce domain fee to save cost
Go renewed some of you domains for 10 years. And make them active sites which generate revenue.
