UPDATE: The scam sites we pointed to has been "scammed" and "run away" ,the domain is either "domain parking " or " 404 — File not found."

DP Signature Links SEO?worth the time?

Whatever reasons you use DigitalPoint forum,spamming is not good.Newbies who learned from those SEO expert was told building dofollow links is go for serp.and #1 spot at search engine means making money.So,these people spammed!

The seo ranking results is unknown but the effect on Dp is obvious! DP get Spammed,heavy shameless spam attacking the forums everyday.It also made Dp act like a mad dog chasing these spammer and these what they have done:

Signature guideline enforcement
Signatures and live links within posts are not available to users until they have been a member at least 7 days,(waste time again!) have positive (green) reputation and have at least 10 posts.

• Up to 250 characters
• No more than 3 lines
• No more than 4 links
• Images are not allowed
• Adult links are not allowed

"If your reputation falls below a certain level, the system automatically revokes your ability to have a signature and live links.If your reputation returns to being above the threshold level, the system automatically restores your ability to use live links and signatures."

So, this means it's the "reputation" you have to take care of.It's fair enough since the real function of discussion board is to discuss,exchange info,etc.Not for you to build link for seo !

However,If you are building link from DP(i don't blame you),you might have spend you time(a lot of time )in order to make your links and signatures goes live.And you might come across this,this is an open secret on how DP moderators work.

Nearly every "active" member on DP has surely received an infraction or two.Received enough infraction will get you different level of penalize .it’s simply a matter of time,you account can be temporarily suspended.At the mean time all your links and signature will be remove,yes those "7 days, have positive (green) reputation and have at least 10 posts"will be totally waste!

And the most funny thing is if you get temporarily suspended,you are not allow to check out the forum even you browse as a guest.(didn't log in)

Using DP to build link? Not worth the time.

Registering DP
If you try to signed up with digital forums lately,you will got the error like this:

Fatal error: Existing data passed is not an arrayCalled set_existing in /home/sites/forums.digitalpoint.com/web/register.php on line 385 in /includes/class_dm.php on line 235

You hit "back" on your browser and re-enter hoping you get enter a correct page but it said:

• The email address you entered is already in use. If you have forgotten your password, please click here.
• That username is already in use or does not meet the administrator's standards. If you are your username and you have forgotten your password, click here.

You don't even received any email from digital point saying your are not qualified whatsoever.

So,your email address is burned (never ever can use to register DP again)and you have wasted your time .It seems dp is not doing any proper maintenance or testing to their script.The problem occur more then a month.

Posting on DP
You must have been a member ,so you would like to share something,go wait.....for 7 days, plus your membership should not have an overall red reputation and have 10 total posts.Even you meet the requirement It can take up to an hour for your new permissions to be active.You must have been a member for 14 days, not have an overall red reputation and have 25 total posts to post in the Buy, Sell or Trade forum (which includes link exchanges) or the Politics & Religion forum.Again!It can take up to an hour for your new permissions to be active.

note:Take up to an hour is what they said ,not me,.BTW,how many hour you have?If you are spammer you most likely willing to wait...(since you get something from them).others go elsewhere.

okay,i wait..i am not a spammer ,i just a webmaster who try to get some info.Since you (DP)are so popular ,everyone know digital point right?

Next...i will talk about restrictions and requirements to have a signature and live links.It's not a"big thing" but the impact could be biggest then those "internet next big thing pre launch!!
